  Evan Smoak, a partner of the New York office, lectured at the American Conference Institute's seminar on the Legal, Practical and Tactical Guide to Winning Reinsurance Arbitrations, held in New York on September 28-29, 2004. Evan spoke again in March 2005 at the ACI Reinsurance Arbitrations Conference in New York, where he presented "Standards for Vacating Arbitration Awards."

  Robert J. McKennon, a partner in the Newport Beach office, co-chaired ACI’s Seventh National Advanced Forum on Litigating Disability Insurance Claims and provided a comprehensive update on the disability law arena, including the newest developments and trends, the most difficult issues facing insureds, insurers, and their respective counsel, and the latest case law. The conference was held in Boston, MA.
